Cowen Rodriguez Peacock is a San Antonio-based personal injury law firm focused on high-value, complex litigation, including catastrophic injury and trucking matters. Known as “The Trucking Trial Lawyers”, the firm combines disciplined, aggressive advocacy with a collaborative approach and a strong commitment to developing its attorneys. We recognize that every case represents a person who has entrusted us with their future, and we are committed to maximizing value and achieving meaningful results for our clients.

The Associate Attorney will work directly with the Managing Attorney for Litigation on a high-value docket of catastrophic injury cases, taking meaningful responsibility for substantial portions of active matters while receiving hands-on guidance and mentorship. The Managing Attorney retains overall case strategy and leadership, making this an opportunity to develop greater litigation responsibility and autonomy over time. This is not a role where you will be managing your own case load.

Hearings Participation: Appear at and handle various hearings independently, while developing strong briefing skills.

Courtroom Exposure: Play an active role in trial proceedings, including examining witnesses and participating before a jury.

Travel: Travel as needed for hearings, depositions, trials, and other case-related matters throughout Texas and, at times, out of state.

What we’re looking for:

Licensed Attorney: Must be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

Strong Writing Abilities: Excellent legal writing and briefing skills are essential.

Legal Writing Sample: A legal writing sample demonstrating strong legal analysis, organization, reasoning, and briefing ability will be required during the interview process.

Collaboration & Coachability: Highly organized, procedure-oriented, collaborative, and receptive to feedback. You should bring confidence to your work while being comfortable asking questions, learning from others, and embracing the Firm's established litigation methodology and processes.

Work Location: This is a full-time, in-office position in San Antonio, Texas. Remote work is not available. Candidates outside San Antonio must be willing to relocate.

Direct Mentorship: Work closely with and receive hands-on mentorship from experienced attorneys who are recognized leaders in trucking personal injury litigation.

Meaningful Case Work: Engage in high-value, catastrophic injury cases with significant impact and complexity.

Comprehensive Training: Participate in dedicated weekly attorney training, practical courtroom skills development, case evaluations, paid CLE opportunities, and Firm-supported professional development.

Active Trial Involvement: Participate actively in trials, gaining valuable courtroom experience rather than merely observing.
