We’re growing fast, and we need someone who can help the world understand why that matters.</p> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">As a Communications Intern, you’ll work closely with our external communications team across design, earned media, owned media, and social, contributing wherever your strengths are most useful. This role is built for someone eager to hone the craft of turning dense, technical ideas into stories and materials that people want to engage with. Over time, the role will focus on the domain where you shine brightest.</p> <h2 class="wnfdnto wnfdntn _1ibi0s35e _1ibi0s36a">Responsibilities</h2> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Day-to-day responsibilities may vary depending on candidate fit, but Communications Interns can expect exposure to the following:</p> <ul class="wnfdntk"> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Help develop story pitches and liaise with industry analysts, journalists, podcasters, and content creators covering the AI infrastructure space.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Contribute to brainstorming sessions for stories and campaigns across the website, social media, and external journalist and influencer engagement.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Coordinate content-planning calendars, stakeholder inputs, and internal review cycles for stories in development.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Assist with filming, photography, and multimedia production.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Identify opportunities to repurpose existing stories across formats, including blog posts, social captions, and video scripts.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Measure the performance of published stories and campaigns to help guide future work and best practices.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Participate in briefings and calls with company leadership.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Take ownership of assigned projects, communicate clearly, meet agreed timelines, and deliver work that creates visible value.</p> </li> </ul> <h2 class="wnfdnto wnfdntn _1ibi0s35e _1ibi0s36a">Qualifications</h2> <ul class="wnfdntk"> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a natural instinct for storytelling.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Ability to project-manage multiple concurrent tasks while adhering to deadlines.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Understanding of how content is consumed and shared across digital platforms, from short-form video to long-form thought leadership.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Genuine curiosity about AI infrastructure and a drive to translate technical material into compelling, accessible narratives.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Strong communication, critical-thinking, learning-agility, and project-management skills.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree, or otherwise participating in a college or graduate internship program.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Available to work in person at Astera Labs’ San Jose headquarters.</p> </li> </ul> <h2 class="wnfdnto wnfdntn _1ibi0s35e _1ibi0s36a">Preferred Qualifications</h2> <ul class="wnfdntk"> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Examples of storytelling you have created and shared publicly, such as a writing sample, Instagram Reel, video, design project, or other work that shows you have created something and shared it with the world.</p> </li> <li class="wnfdntf _1ibi0s35c"> <p class="wnfdnt11 _1ibi0s3fd _1ibi0s3ce _1ibi0s3eg">Prior experience translating technical material—especially in semiconductors—is preferred but not required.
